3in Clay Auger, Carbon Steel
Clay Augers have an open bit design with windows machined in the sides to allow for sample viewing and improved recovery in cohesive soils. They are 18in (457mm) in overall length and come in carbon steel and stainless steel models with 3 or 4in (76 or 102mm) diameters. Carbon Steel models perform well with most applications while the Stainless Steel augers works better for environmental sampling with minimal contamination.
Augers have a hexagonal connection with hole for a locking pin. Quick-Connect Pins are purchased separately to easily and securely connect augers to extensions with quick-connect fittings.
