The Neoprene Compression Pad flows into irregularities and distributes the test load uniformly without creating air pockets to assure consistent breaks.  Patented “stay in place” nubs, secure pads into cups.

Compression pads are available in several hardnesses.
50 duro for design strength 1500 to 6000 psi.
60 duro for design strength 2500 to 7000 psi.
70 duro for design strength 4000 to 12,000 psi*.

*Qualifying tests must be performed for strength over 7,000 psi per ASTM.

4in Neoprene Pads come in 50, 60, or 70 durometer. They are used when testing compressive strength of concrete cylinders and meet ASTM C1231/1231M and AASHTO T 22 standards. The pads are 0.5in (12.7mm) thick and flow during compression to fill irregularities in cylinder ends and ensure uniform load distribution. The 4in Steel Retainer Set are sold separately and required to hold the pads at both ends of the cylinder. Two pads are required. Pads can be used up to 100 times.

The Deslauriers 4in Unbonded Capping Neoprene Pad Cap, 90 Duro (2/Pk) is a reliable and essential component used in the compression testing of concrete cylinders. Designed to ensure consistent load distribution and prevent the formation of air pockets, this neoprene compression pad guarantees accurate and uniform breaks.

Featuring patented "stay in place" nubs, these neoprene pads securely fit into the cups, eliminating the risk of displacement during testing. The pads are available in multiple hardness options, including 50 duro for design strength ranging from 1500 to 6000 psi, 60 duro for design strength between 2500 and 7000 psi, and 70 duro for design strength from 4000 to 12,000 psi*.

In order to meet the strength qualification tests of 7000 psi and above as per ASTM specifications, it is important to perform qualifying tests. For detailed information on maximum uses, qualification tests, and more, please refer to ASTM C1231 guidelines or consult our knowledgeable sales personnel.

The 4in Neoprene Pads, with a thickness of 0.5in (12.7mm), conform to ASTM C1231/1231M and AASHTO T 22 standards. These pads are designed to flow during compression, effectively filling any irregularities in the cylinder ends and ensuring the even distribution of the test load.

Please note that these neoprene pad caps need to be used in conjunction with the 4in Steel Retainer Set, sold separately, which securely holds the pads in place at both ends of the cylinder. Each capping process requires two pads. These pads are reusable and can be used up to 100 times.
