ASTM #8C Distillation Thermometer, -2 to 400C, NIST Calibration
The ASTM #8C Distillation Thermometer, -2 to 400C has a strict manufacturing tolerance. Accuracy is assured by inspection and testing of samples from each production run. The thermometer is supplied with a statement of compliance to E 1 and E 77 requirements. The ASTM Thermometer is yellow-backed glass with permanent graduations, mercury-filled and individually packed in a cardboard tube.
Comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. The NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration is a five-point calibration certificate from an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory. This accreditation is your assurance that the calibration is performed in a qualified, controlled lab. The calibration on the glass thermometer is performed using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. The thermometer is also inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before testing. Measurements are performed at 5 temperature points.

The ASTM #8C Distillation Thermometer is a high-quality thermometer designed for accurate temperature measurement in various applications. With a temperature range of -2 to 400C, this thermometer is suitable for a wide range of distillation processes.
Manufactured with strict tolerance, each thermometer undergoes inspection and testing to ensure accuracy and compliance with E1 and E77 requirements. The thermometer is made of yellow-backed glass with permanent graduations, allowing for easy reading of temperature measurements. It is filled with mercury, which provides reliable and consistent results.
To further guarantee accuracy, every ASTM #8C Distillation Thermometer is individually packed in a cardboard tube to protect it from damage during transportation or storage. Additionally, the thermometer comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. This certificate confirms that the calibration of the thermometer has been performed by an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory, ensuring accurate and reliable temperature readings. The calibration is carried out using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays.
Measuring at a length of 15.1 inches (384mm), this thermometer provides a total immersion in the solution being measured, ensuring accurate and consistent readings. The divisions on the thermometer are marked at 1.0C intervals, allowing for precise temperature measurement.
Safety is always a priority when working with thermometers. To prevent fluid column separation, it is recommended to store the ASTM #8C Distillation Thermometer vertically using a storage rack. Additionally, using a thermometer well can provide added protection and thermal stabilization when using the thermometer in ovens or other exposed environments.
