ASTM S17C Non-Mercury Thermometer, 19 to 27C, NIST Calibration

These liquid-in-glass thermometers have physical and performance characteristics identical to ASTM thermometers for their referenced applications, but have not yet been reviewed and accepted by ASTM for these purposes. They use a safe blue indicating liquid that is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous. Dark blue color is easily read against the white-backed stem.

Comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. The NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration is a five-point calibration certificate from an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory. This accreditation is your assurance that the calibration is performed in a qualified, controlled lab. The calibration on the glass thermometer is performed using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. The thermometer is also inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before testing. Measurements are performed at 5 temperature points.

The ASTM S17C Non-Mercury Thermometer is a reliable and accurate tool for measuring temperatures in the range of 19 to 27 degrees Celsius. These liquid-in-glass thermometers have the same physical and performance characteristics as ASTM thermometers, making them ideal for various applications.

What sets this thermometer apart is its use of a safe blue indicating liquid that is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous. The dark blue color of the liquid is easily readable against the white-backed stem, ensuring clear and precise temperature readings.

To ensure the highest level of accuracy, the ASTM S17C Non-Mercury Thermometer comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. This certificate guarantees that the calibration was performed in a qualified and controlled laboratory, using a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) for direct comparison measurements. Before testing, the thermometer is inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations to ensure reliable performance. The calibration is conducted at 5 temperature points, providing confidence in the accuracy of the readings.

With its 11-inch (280mm) length, the ASTM S17C Non-Mercury Thermometer is suitable for various industrial, scientific, and educational applications. It is particularly useful in the Saybolt Viscosity application, where precise temperature measurements are crucial.

To maintain the integrity of the thermometer, it is recommended to store it vertically using a storage rack. This reduces the risk of fluid column separation and ensures the longevity of the thermometer.

For additional protection and thermal stabilization in exposed environments, the Thermometer Well is available. This accessory provides a safeguard for glass laboratory thermometers used in ovens or other similar conditions.
