ASTM S17F Non-Mercury Thermometer, 66 to 80F, NIST Calibration

These liquid-in-glass thermometers have physical and performance characteristics identical to ASTM thermometers for their referenced applications, but have not yet been reviewed and accepted by ASTM for these purposes. They use a safe blue indicating liquid that is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous. Dark blue color is easily read against the white-backed stem.

Comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. The NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration is a five-point calibration certificate from an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory. This accreditation is your assurance that the calibration is performed in a qualified, controlled lab. The calibration on the glass thermometer is performed using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. The thermometer is also inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before testing. Measurements are performed at 5 temperature points.

The ASTM S17F Non-Mercury Thermometer is a reliable and accurate tool for measuring temperatures ranging from 66 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. This thermometer is designed with physical and performance characteristics that align with ASTM standards, ensuring its precision and quality. While it has not yet been reviewed and accepted by ASTM for specific applications, it shares the same features as other ASTM-approved thermometers.

One notable feature of this thermometer is its use of a safe blue indicating liquid. This liquid is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous, making it a suitable choice for various environments. The dark blue color of the indicating liquid is easily visible against the white-backed stem, allowing for effortless temperature readings.

To guarantee accuracy, the ASTM S17F Non-Mercury Thermometer comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. This certificate is provided by an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory, ensuring that the calibration is performed in a qualified and controlled environment. The calibration process involves direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath using a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. Before testing, the thermometer is thoroughly inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations.

Measuring 11 inches in length, this non-mercury thermometer is suitable for a wide range of applications, particularly those involving Saybolt Viscosity. With a division of 0.2 degrees, it provides precise temperature measurements.

For storage, it is recommended to keep the Non-Mercury Thermometer vertically using a storage rack to prevent fluid column separation. Additionally, the use of a Thermometer Well can provide protection and thermal stabilization for glass laboratory thermometers used in ovens or other exposed environments.

As part of the comprehensive line of ASTM thermometers, this non-mercury option offers a safe and reliable alternative. If you are in need of accurate temperature measurements, this ASTM S17F Non-Mercury Thermometer is an excellent choice.
