ASTM S20F Non-Mercury Thermometer, 134 to 148F, NIST Calibration

These liquid-in-glass thermometers have physical and performance characteristics identical to ASTM thermometers for their referenced applications, but have not yet been reviewed and accepted by ASTM for these purposes. They use a safe blue indicating liquid that is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous. Dark blue color is easily read against the white-backed stem.

Comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. The NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration is a five-point calibration certificate from an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory. This accreditation is your assurance that the calibration is performed in a qualified, controlled lab. The calibration on the glass thermometer is performed using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. The thermometer is also inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before testing. Measurements are performed at 5 temperature points.

One of the key features of this thermometer is its use of a safe blue indicating liquid. This liquid is biodegradable, non-toxic, and non-hazardous, ensuring the safety of both users and the environment. The dark blue color of the indicating liquid is also easily visible against the white-backed stem, making it easy to read and interpret the temperature measurements.

Each ASTM S20F Non-Mercury Thermometer comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. This certificate is your assurance that the thermometer has undergone a rigorous calibration process in an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory. The calibration is performed using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer, guaranteeing accurate and reliable temperature readings.

With a temperature range of 134 to 148 degrees Fahrenheit, this thermometer is suitable for a wide range of applications. It has a total immersion feature, making it suitable for measuring Saybolt viscosity. The thermometer also has a division of 0.2 degrees, allowing for precise temperature measurements.

Measuring 11 inches (280mm) in length, the ASTM S20F Non-Mercury Thermometer is a compact and portable instrument that can easily be carried and used wherever you need it. However, to prevent fluid column separation, it is recommended to store the thermometer vertically using a storage rack.

For additional protection and thermal stabilization, you can use the Thermometer Well specifically designed for glass laboratory thermometers used in ovens or other exposed environments.

In conclusion, the ASTM S20F Non-Mercury Thermometer is a reliable and accurate instrument that is perfect for various applications. With its safe indicating liquid, NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration, and precise temperature range, this thermometer is a valuable tool for anyone in need of accurate temperature measurements.
