ASTM S47F Non-Mercury Thermometer, 137.5 to 142.5F, NIST Calibration

These liquid-in-glass thermometers have physical and performance characteristics identical to ASTM thermometers for their referenced applications, but have not yet been reviewed and accepted by ASTM for these purposes. They use a safe blue indicating liquid that is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous. Dark blue color is easily read against the white-backed stem.

Comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. The NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration is a five-point calibration certificate from an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory. This accreditation is your assurance that the calibration is performed in a qualified, controlled lab. The calibration on the glass thermometer is performed using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. The thermometer is also inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before testing. Measurements are performed at 5 temperature points.

The ASTM S47F Non-Mercury Thermometer is a high-quality, reliable tool for measuring temperatures in the range of 137.5 to 142.5F. These thermometers have the same physical and performance characteristics as ASTM thermometers, making them suitable for various applications. While they have not been officially reviewed and accepted by ASTM, they are still a trustworthy choice for your temperature measurement needs.

One of the key features of this thermometer is its use of a safe blue indicating liquid. This liquid is biodegradable, non-toxic, and non-hazardous, ensuring both user safety and environmental friendliness. The dark blue color of the indicating liquid is easily readable against the white-backed stem, allowing for quick and accurate temperature readings.

To further guarantee the accuracy of the thermometer, it comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. This certificate ensures that the calibration of the thermometer has been performed in a qualified, controlled laboratory that is accredited to ISO/IEC standards. The calibration is done using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath, alongside a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. Before testing, the thermometer is thoroughly inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations.

The ASTM S47F Non-Mercury Thermometer has a temperature division of 0.1 degrees and a length of 12.6 inches (320mm), providing accurate and precise temperature measurements. It is designed for total immersion and is specifically used for applications involving kinematic viscosity.

To ensure the longevity and proper storage of the thermometer, it is recommended to store it vertically using a storage rack. Additionally, for those using the thermometer in ovens or other exposed environments, the Thermometer Well provides protection and thermal stabilization.

If you are looking for a reliable and accurate non-mercury thermometer for your temperature measurement needs, the ASTM S47F Non-Mercury Thermometer is an excellent choice. Its safe indicating liquid, NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration, and precise performance make it an indispensable tool in various fields, from scientific research to industrial applications.
