ASTM S78F Non-Mercury Thermometer, 295 to 315F, NIST Calibration

These liquid-in-glass thermometers have physical and performance characteristics identical to ASTM thermometers for their referenced applications, but have not yet been reviewed and accepted by ASTM for these purposes. They use a safe blue indicating liquid that is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous. Dark blue color is easily read against the white-backed stem.

Comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. The NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration is a five-point calibration certificate from an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory. This accreditation is your assurance that the calibration is performed in a qualified, controlled lab. The calibration on the glass thermometer is performed using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. The thermometer is also inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before testing. Measurements are performed at 5 temperature points.

The ASTM S78F Non-Mercury Thermometer is a reliable and accurate temperature measuring instrument designed for a range of applications. This thermometer has physical and performance characteristics that are identical to ASTM thermometers for their referenced applications. Although it has not yet been reviewed and accepted by ASTM for these purposes, it still delivers excellent performance.

One of the standout features of this thermometer is its use of a safe blue indicating liquid. This liquid is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous, ensuring the safety of both users and the environment. The dark blue color of the indicating liquid is easily read against the white-backed stem, making it effortless to determine temperature readings.

To provide added assurance of accuracy, the ASTM S78F Non-Mercury Thermometer comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. This certificate is issued by an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory, guaranteeing that the calibration is performed in a qualified and controlled environment. The calibration process involves using a Precision Reference Thermometer and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer, ensuring precise temperature measurements. The thermometer is also thoroughly inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before it undergoes testing.

With a temperature range of 295 to 315 degrees Fahrenheit, this thermometer is suitable for a variety of applications, particularly in determining Saybolt Viscosity. It has a division of 0.5 degrees, ensuring accurate temperature readings. The length of the thermometer is 11.4 inches (290mm), providing ample space for users to handle and read temperature measurements easily.

To protect and stabilize the glass laboratory thermometer used in ovens or other exposed environments, the Thermometer Well is available as an optional accessory. This well provides thermal stabilization and ensures the longevity of the thermometer.

To store the Non-Mercury Thermometer properly and prevent fluid column separation, a dedicated storage rack is recommended. This storage rack allows for vertical storage, ensuring the thermometer remains in optimal condition.

With its reliable performance, safe indicating liquid, and NIST Traceable Calibration, the ASTM S78F Non-Mercury Thermometer is an excellent choice for accurate temperature measurements in a variety of applications. Whether it's for laboratory use, industrial processes, or scientific research, this thermometer delivers reliable and precise results.
