ASTM S18F Non-Mercury Thermometer, 94 to 108F, NIST Calibration
ASTM S18F Non-Mercury Thermometer has a total measurement range from 94 to 108F, with graduations of 0.2 degrees. These total immersion thermometers are specified for use in saybolt viscosity testing, and can be used for other applications within their range. Total length is 11in (280mm).
ASTM Non-Mercury Thermometers meet standard test method requirements for use in their referenced applications. The liquid-in-glass thermometers have the same performance characteristics as ASTM Mercury Thermometers, but use safe blue liquid as an alternative to mercury. The proprietary formula is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous. Dark blue color is easily read against the white-backed stem.
Features:
- Meets ASTM E1, E77, E2251 requirements
- Non-hazardous, biodegradable indicating fluid
- Dark blue fluid is highly visible against white-backed stem
- Acceptable for use in Saybolt Viscosity Testing
Comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. The NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration is a five-point calibration certificate from an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory. This accreditation is your assurance that the calibration is performed in a qualified, controlled lab. The calibration on the glass thermometer is performed using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. The thermometer is also inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before testing. Measurements are performed at 5 temperature points.

Thermometers Calibrated: Calibrate for Accurate Readings
The ASTM S18F Non-Mercury Thermometer is a reliable and accurate thermometer designed for a specific temperature range of 94 to 108F. With graduations of 0.2 degrees, this total immersion thermometer is perfect for use in saybolt viscosity testing, although it can also be utilized for other applications within its range.
This thermometer meets all ASTM E1, E77, and E2251 requirements, ensuring its quality and adherence to standard test method specifications. To provide a safe alternative to traditional mercury thermometers, this device uses a proprietary biodegradable and non-hazardous blue liquid. The dark blue color of the fluid is easily visible against the white-backed stem, making it effortless to read.
Accompanying this thermometer is a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration, giving you the assurance that it has been calibrated in a qualified, controlled laboratory. The calibration process involves comparing the thermometer's measurements at five temperature points with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. Additionally, each thermometer is carefully inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before testing.
For storage, it is recommended to store the Non-Mercury Thermometers vertically using a storage rack to prevent fluid column separation. To further protect and stabilize the thermometer in exposed environments, a separate Thermometer Well is available.
