ASTM S59F Non-Mercury Thermometer, 0 to 180F, NIST Calibration

ASTM S59F Non-Mercury Thermometer has a total measurement range from 0 to 180F, with graduations of 1.0 degree. These total immersion thermometers are specified for use in tank testing, and can be used for other applications within their range. Total length is 12.0in (305mm).

ASTM Non-Mercury Thermometers meet standard test method requirements for use in their referenced applications. The liquid-in-glass thermometers have the same performance characteristics as ASTM Mercury Thermometers, but use safe blue liquid as an alternative to mercury. The proprietary formula is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous. Dark blue color is easily read against the white-backed stem.

Features:

  • Meets ASTM E1, E77, E2251 requirements
  • Non-hazardous, biodegradable indicating fluid
  • Dark blue fluid is highly visible against white-backed stem
  • Acceptable for use in Saybolt Viscosity Testing

Comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. The NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration is a five-point calibration certificate from an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory. This accreditation is your assurance that the calibration is performed in a qualified, controlled lab. The calibration on the glass thermometer is performed using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. The thermometer is also inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before testing. Measurements are performed at 5 temperature points.

The ASTM S59F Non-Mercury Thermometer is a reliable and accurate tool for measuring temperatures ranging from 0 to 180F. With graduations of 1.0 degree, this total immersion thermometer is specifically designed for use in tank testing and can also be used for various other applications within its range.

What sets this thermometer apart is its use of a safe blue liquid as an alternative to mercury. This liquid is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous, providing a safer option for temperature measurement. The dark blue color of the fluid against the white-backed stem ensures easy and clear visibility of the temperature reading.

The ASTM S59F Non-Mercury Thermometer meets the requirements of ASTM E1, E77, and E2251, making it a reliable and trusted tool for accurate temperature measurement. It is also acceptable for use in Saybolt Viscosity Testing.

To ensure the accuracy of the temperature readings, each thermometer comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. This certificate guarantees that the calibration has been performed in a qualified and controlled laboratory according to ISO/IEC standards. The calibration is done using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. Before testing, the thermometer is thoroughly inspected for any cracks or liquid-column separations.

The ASTM S59F Non-Mercury Thermometer is 12.0 inches (305mm) in length, providing a sufficient range for temperature measurement. To ensure the longevity and accuracy of the thermometer, it is recommended to store it vertically using a storage rack.

For additional protection and thermal stabilization, the thermometer can be used with a Thermometer Well, especially in oven or exposed environments.

Overall, the ASTM S59F Non-Mercury Thermometer is a reliable, safe, and accurate tool for temperature measurement. Its use of non-mercury fluid, NIST Traceable Calibration, and adherence to ASTM standards make it an ideal choice for professionals in various industries.
