ASTM S62C to S70C Non-Mercury Thermometers, -38 to 405C, NIST

ASTM S62C to S70C Non-Mercury Thermometer has a total measurement range from -38 to 405C, with graduations of Varies. These total immersion thermometers are specified for use in precision full set testing, and can be used for other applications within their range. Total length is 15.7in (400mm).

ASTM Non-Mercury Thermometers meet standard test method requirements for use in their referenced applications. The liquid-in-glass thermometers have the same performance characteristics as ASTM Mercury Thermometers, but use safe blue liquid as an alternative to mercury. The proprietary formula is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous. Dark blue color is easily read against the white-backed stem.

Features:

  • Meets ASTM E1, E77, E2251 requirements
  • Non-hazardous, biodegradable indicating fluid
  • Dark blue fluid is highly visible against white-backed stem
  • Acceptable for use in Saybolt Viscosity Testing

Comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. The NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration is a five-point calibration certificate from an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory. This accreditation is your assurance that the calibration is performed in a qualified, controlled lab. The calibration on the glass thermometer is performed using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. The thermometer is also inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before testing. Measurements are performed at 5 temperature points.

The ASTM S62C to S70C Non-Mercury Thermometers are essential tools for precise temperature measurement in various applications. With a measurement range from -38 to 405C and graduations that vary, these thermometers provide accurate readings for a wide range of temperature settings.

The thermometers are specifically designed for precision full set testing, but can also be used in other applications within their temperature range. With a total length of 15.7 inches (400mm), these thermometers are easy to handle and operate.

One of the key features of these thermometers is the use of safe blue liquid as an alternative to mercury. This non-hazardous, biodegradable fluid is environmentally friendly and poses no risk to users. The dark blue color of the liquid is highly visible against the white-backed stem, making it easy to read the temperature readings accurately.

Furthermore, these thermometers meet the requirements of ASTM standards E1, E77, and E2251. This ensures that they adhere to the industry's highest quality standards and provide reliable and consistent temperature measurements.

To guarantee the accuracy and reliability of these thermometers, each unit comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. This certificate guarantees that the calibration is performed in a qualified, controlled laboratory by skilled technicians. The calibration process involves direct comparison with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT), ensuring precise and accurate temperature readings. Additionally, the thermometers are inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before testing.

To further enhance the performance and longevity of these thermometers, proper storage is recommended. It is best to store them vertically using a designated storage rack to prevent fluid column separation. Additionally, the use of a thermometer well provides protection and thermal stabilization when using the thermometers in ovens or other exposed environments.
