Pocket Digital Thermometer (F and C)
The Turf-Tec Digital Pocket Thermometer is a rugged thermometer with a folding probe and is easy to carry. It reads the soil temperature within 10 seconds. The unit is very durable with a 3 1/4 inch (9 cm) long probe.
Since the temperature sensor on this durable thermometer is located at the tip of the stainless steel probe, soil temperatures can be taken at different depths. This is accomplished by inserting the probe at different depth levels in the soil profile from one inch to three and a half inches deep. Unit also shows the maximum and minimum temperature readings with a separate button.
- Check temperature in thatch, mat or root zone. Avoid scald and loss of turf when conditions are favorable for high moisture and temperature.
- Check temperature for effective overseeding.
- Check temperature before pre-emergent weed control applications.
- The thermometer automatically turns off after approximately one hour to extend battery life.
