ASTM S110F Non-Mercury Thermometer, 272.5 to 277.5F, NIST Calibration

These liquid-in-glass thermometers have physical and performance characteristics identical to ASTM thermometers for their referenced applications, but have not yet been reviewed and accepted by ASTM for these purposes. They use a safe blue indicating liquid that is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous. Dark blue color is easily read against the white-backed stem.

Comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. The NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration is a five-point calibration certificate from an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory. This accreditation is your assurance that the calibration is performed in a qualified, controlled lab. The calibration on the glass thermometer is performed using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. The thermometer is also inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before testing. Measurements are performed at 5 temperature points.

The ASTM S110F Non-Mercury Thermometer is a high-quality liquid-in-glass thermometer designed for accurate temperature measurement in various applications. While these thermometers have not yet been reviewed and accepted by ASTM, they possess the same physical and performance characteristics as ASTM-approved thermometers for their respective applications.

One of the standout features of the ASTM S110F Non-Mercury Thermometer is its use of a safe blue indicating liquid. This liquid is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous, ensuring the safety of users and the environment. The dark blue color of the indicating liquid makes it easy to read against the white-backed stem, enhancing visibility and accuracy.

This thermometer comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration, providing assurance that the calibration is performed in a qualified and controlled laboratory. The calibration process involves a five-point calibration using a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) in a high-stability liquid bath. The thermometer is also inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before testing. This meticulous calibration process ensures accurate and reliable temperature measurement.

With a temperature range of 272.5 to 277.5 degrees Fahrenheit and a division of 0.1 degrees, this thermometer is suitable for applications requiring precise temperature measurement, such as kinematic viscosity testing. Its length of 12.6 inches (320mm) allows for easy handling and operation.

To protect and stabilize the glass thermometer in exposed environments, the ASTM S110F Non-Mercury Thermometer can be used with a Thermometer Well. This well provides thermal stabilization, ensuring accurate temperature readings in ovens or other environments where the thermometer may be subjected to extreme temperatures.

For proper storage and to prevent fluid column separation, it is recommended to store the Non-Mercury Thermometer vertically using a storage rack specifically designed for this purpose.

In summary, the ASTM S110F Non-Mercury Thermometer offers accurate and reliable temperature measurement with its safe blue indicating liquid, NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration, and high-quality construction. It is an excellent choice for a wide range of applications, including but not limited to kinematic viscosity testing, and provides peace of mind with its adherence to rigorous calibration standards.
