ASTM S113F Non-Mercury Thermometer, 30 to 350F, NIST Calibration

These liquid-in-glass thermometers have physical and performance characteristics identical to ASTM thermometers for their referenced applications, but have not yet been reviewed and accepted by ASTM for these purposes. They use a safe blue indicating liquid that is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous. Dark blue color is easily read against the white-backed stem.

Comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. The NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration is a five-point calibration certificate from an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory. This accreditation is your assurance that the calibration is performed in a qualified, controlled lab. The calibration on the glass thermometer is performed using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. The thermometer is also inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before testing. Measurements are performed at 5 temperature points.

The ASTM S113F Non-Mercury Thermometer is a reliable and accurate liquid-in-glass thermometer designed for various applications. This thermometer has the same physical and performance characteristics as ASTM thermometers, making it suitable for its referenced applications. Although it has not yet been reviewed and accepted by ASTM, it delivers exceptional results.

One of the key features of this thermometer is its use of a safe blue indicating liquid. This liquid is biodegradable, non-toxic, and non-hazardous, ensuring the safety of users. The dark blue color of the indicating liquid makes it easy to read against the white-backed stem, further enhancing its usability.

For added assurance of accuracy, the ASTM S113F Non-Mercury Thermometer comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. This certificate is obtained from an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory, guaranteeing that the calibration is performed in a qualified and controlled environment. The calibration process involves direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath using a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and a Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT). Before testing, the thermometer is thoroughly inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations to ensure its reliability. The calibration is performed at five temperature points, ensuring precise measurements.

With a temperature range of 30 to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, this non-mercury thermometer is suitable for applications such as bituminous softening point determination. Its division of 1.0 degree ensures accurate temperature readings, allowing users to make informed decisions based on the data provided.

Measuring at 16 inches (410 mm) in length, the thermometer is easy to handle and use. It is recommended to store these non-mercury thermometers vertically using a storage rack (sold separately) to prevent fluid column separation.

For additional protection and thermal stabilization, a thermometer well (sold separately) is available. This well is specifically designed to safeguard glass laboratory thermometers used in ovens or other exposed environments.

Overall, the ASTM S113F Non-Mercury Thermometer is a reliable and accurate instrument that meets industry standards. Its safe indicating liquid, NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration, and wide temperature range make it a valuable tool for various applications.
