ASTM S16C Non-Mercury Thermometer, 30 to 200C, NIST Calibration

These liquid-in-glass thermometers have physical and performance characteristics identical to ASTM thermometers for their referenced applications, but have not yet been reviewed and accepted by ASTM for these purposes. They use a safe blue indicating liquid that is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous. Dark blue color is easily read against the white-backed stem.

Comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. The NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration is a five-point calibration certificate from an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory. This accreditation is your assurance that the calibration is performed in a qualified, controlled lab. The calibration on the glass thermometer is performed using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. The thermometer is also inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before testing. Measurements are performed at 5 temperature points.

The ASTM S16C Non-Mercury Thermometer is a reliable and safe tool used for measuring temperatures in a range from 30 to 200 degrees Celsius. This thermometer is calibrated according to NIST standards, providing accurate and traceable readings.

What sets this thermometer apart is its use of a blue indicating liquid that is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous, ensuring both safety and environmental consciousness. The dark blue color of the liquid is easily read against the white-backed stem, making temperature readings quick and convenient.

The ASTM S16C Non-Mercury Thermometer comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration, providing assurance that the calibration is performed in a qualified, controlled laboratory. The calibration process involves a direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath using a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. Before testing, the thermometer is thoroughly inspected for any cracks or liquid-column separations to ensure accuracy. Measurements are then performed at 5 temperature points, ensuring precise and reliable readings.

With a length of 15.7 inches (400mm), this thermometer is suitable for various applications, particularly in measuring the bituminous softening point. Its division of 0.5 degrees allows for precise temperature readings, making it ideal for laboratories and research facilities.

To ensure the longevity of the thermometer and prevent any fluid column separation, it is recommended to store the Non-Mercury Thermometer vertically using a storage rack. Additionally, for those requiring thermal stabilization and protection for glass laboratory thermometers used in ovens or other exposed environments, the Thermometer Well is recommended.

In addition to the ASTM S16C Non-Mercury Thermometer, we offer a full line of ASTM Mercury Filled Thermometers and ASTM Non-Mercury Thermometers, providing a comprehensive range of options to suit various temperature measurement needs.

When it comes to thermometers, precision and accuracy are essential. That's why the ASTM S16C Non-Mercury Thermometer, with its NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration and safe blue indicating liquid, is the ideal choice for precise temperature measurements in a variety of applications.
