ASTM S39C Non-Mercury Thermometer, 48 to 102C, NIST Calibration

These liquid-in-glass thermometers have physical and performance characteristics identical to ASTM thermometers for their referenced applications, but have not yet been reviewed and accepted by ASTM for these purposes. They use a safe blue indicating liquid that is biodegradable, nontoxic, and nonhazardous. Dark blue color is easily read against the white-backed stem.

Comes with a NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration. The NIST Traceable Certificate of Calibration is a five-point calibration certificate from an ISO/IEC accredited laboratory. This accreditation is your assurance that the calibration is performed in a qualified, controlled lab. The calibration on the glass thermometer is performed using direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. The thermometer is also inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations before testing. Measurements are performed at 5 temperature points.

The ASTM S39C Non-Mercury Thermometer is a reliable and safe option for measuring temperatures in a variety of applications. With a temperature range of 48 to 102 degrees Celsius, this thermometer is suitable for use in solvents distillation and other related processes.

This thermometer uses a blue indicating liquid that is biodegradable, non-toxic, and non-hazardous, ensuring safety in its use. The dark blue color of the liquid makes it easily readable against the white-backed stem, providing clear and accurate temperature readings.

One of the key features of this thermometer is its NIST traceable certificate of calibration. This certificate ensures that the calibration is performed in a qualified, controlled laboratory and provides assurance of accurate temperature measurements. The calibration process involves direct comparison in a high-stability liquid bath with a Precision Reference Thermometer (PRT) and Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) and displays. Before testing, each thermometer is inspected for cracks and liquid-column separations.

With a length of 15.7 inches and an immersion depth of 3.9 inches, the ASTM S39C thermometer is designed for easy handling and use in various laboratory environments. To ensure optimal performance and prevent fluid column separation, it is recommended to store the thermometer vertically using a storage rack.

For added protection and thermal stabilization of the glass laboratory thermometer in ovens or other exposed environments, the Thermometer Well is available as an additional accessory.
